Jonathan Guynn

Jonathan Guynn represents clients facing high-stakes business disputes, federal investigations, and white collar matters. He represents prominent companies and individuals in the technology, aerospace, financial services, medical device, digital advertising, and beverage industries.

Representative clients include: Space Exploration Technologies Corp., Sumner Redstone, Altamar Brands LLC, the City of Santa Monica, and officers of public companies.

Mr. Guynn is also an active pro bono attorney. He recently prevailed in a trial, securing a permanent restraining order for a victim of domestic violence, as well as an order of full physical and legal custody of the victim's young children.

Before joining Hueston Hennigan, Mr. Guynn served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kent Jordan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (2014-2015) and to the Honorable David Campbell of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona (2013-2014).

Mr. Guynn earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was named to the Order of the Coif and served as a member of the Virginia Law Review and Virginia Journal of Criminal Law. While in law school, Mr. Guynn worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Thomas Griffith of the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Prior to law school, Mr. Guynn earned a B.A. in economics and in history from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Guynn is admitted to practice in all state courts in California, all state courts in New York, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

  • Represents a business executive at a digital advertising and technology firm in an investigation by the United States Attorney's Office concerning an alleged Ponzi Scheme.
  • Represents a prominent medical device company in a significant investigation by the United States Attorney's Office concerning recalled medical equipment.
  • Represents a brand manager and distributor of alcoholic spirits in a contract dispute against a U.K. entity.
