Pro Bono Work

We believe lawyers are important contributors to social change, and encourage our attorneys to dedicate their time to matters and organizations important to them. Hueston Hennigan supports numerous nonprofit organizations, including ones grappling with domestic violence, fair housing issues, migrant representation and child hunger. We do this by providing pro bono legal services, making financial contributions to worthy causes and by serving on organization and association boards.

Our pro bono practice is not only a crucial component of our commitment to community engagement, but as a firm with an emphasis on trial expertise, it is an essential component of our dedication to honing pretrial and courtroom skills. We urge associates to work closely with our in-house pro bono coordinator to take on pro bono engagements that are not only meaningful, but provide significant opportunities for client interaction and courtroom advocacy. The firm also credits time worked by associates on pro bono matters on a 1:1 basis for bonus purposes, and takes pride in maintaining a high percentage of associate and partner involvement in social justice causes.

Hueston Hennigan attorneys have achieved significant victories for pro bono clients in a wide range of matters, and organizations with whom we partner include: L.A. Center for Law & Justice, Kids in Need of Defense, Inner City Law Center, Western Center on Law & Poverty, Food from the Bar, Equality California, and the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County.
