Taiyee Chien is an associate focused on complex commercial litigation. Prior to joining Hueston Hennigan, he worked as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis, where he represented clients in high-stakes litigation, arbitration and investigations. Mr. Chien also clerked for the Hon. Richard J. Sullivan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and interned for the Hon. Valerie E. Caproni of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
During law school, Mr. Chien was an associate and online editor of the University of Chicago Law Review. After graduating, he was elected to the Order of the Coif and designated a Kirkland & Ellis Scholar. He was also the winner of the 2021 Stein Memorial Writing Competition run by the New York State Bar Association.
Currently, Tai also serves as an officer and board member of the Asian American Bar Association of New York.

Represented a private-equity fund and directors of an education-technology company in a shareholder derivative action following a take-private transaction.
Represented a private-equity fund and directors of an event-planning company in a shareholder derivative action after the company was acquired.
Achieved a settlement for a Fortune 500 company and its subsidiary in an ICC arbitration relating to an alleged breach of a collaboration agreement with respect to the sale of pharmaceuticals.
Secured a unanimous jury verdict for a Fortune 500 company in the Southern District of New York, affirmed by the Second Circuit, in a breach of contract and trademark infringement lawsuit relating to beer and hard seltzer products.
